June 22 / 23 / 24

Back to the trail after a rain filled night.  The trail consists of muddy sections that slow you up because you must either go around them or you're forced to plow right through them.  Everyone's hiking shoes end up getting mud and slime caked on them.  So today's milage is 14.9 and I'm at mile 1680.8.

Let's see what shall I have for dinner.  I think it's going to be a Knorr pasta dish with a teaspoon of minced garlic and two tablespoons of olive oil added in, an epicurean delight.  I'll add some boiling spring water to the mix and let it steep for fifteen minutes.  Oh my god is it going to be good.  I can hardly contain myself!  And for desert how about a handful of peanut M & M's those multi-colored little morsels.  Yes that's the ticket.  And all of that at a cost of only a buck fifty.  😆  Hey wait a minute that's what I had yesterday, and the day before, and the day before, and the day before. 😨

6 / 23  My plan today is to hike four more miles where the trail intersects the highway and hitch a ride into nearby Rutland, Vermont.  I'm going to try and stay at the Hikers Hostel at the Yellow Deli.

OK I'm at the hostel.  No issues thumbing a ride.  It's raining so I'm glad to be here.  They assigned me a bed and I'm set for the night.  First thing is take a shower and then do my laundry.  All is well in Vermont.

6 / 24   Me, the Dynamic Duo, and Big Ben decided to do a 17.4 mile   slack pack today.  We caught the bus to VT 103 and began the hike at 8am.  The trail went up and over Killington peak and Pico summit.  We just finished at 3:30 at the exit point of highway US 4 and caught the bus into town.  The weather today was perfect for hiking.
