So I slept by the creek last night. The rustling noise of the water is always great background music to sleep by. Another thru hiker who goes by Tennessee Jed slept in his hammic up higher on the ridge. I first met him in Port Clinton two weeks ago. We were the only two here last night. The weather today calls for sunny skies with a high in the eighties.
Hiked to the highway leading into Kent and walked the .8 into town where I ran into Taco, Snickers, and Sputnik at a coffee shop. Snickers said she has Lyme disease and is taking Doxycycline. Had a coffee and breakfast sandwich and returned to hiking.
Kept hiking to Cornwell Bridge and decided to stay at the Bearded Woods One-of-a-kind Bunk and Dine. It's a really nice hostel and at a reasonable price, 50 bucks, which includes breakfast, dinner, and they do all of your laundry. I'm going to stay for another night and do a 17 mile slack pack to Salisbury which is free if you stay two nights.
6 / 13 The slack pack went well. Maverick, another thru hiker, did the slack pack as well. I did 17 miles in 6.5 hours. Hudson, the owner of the hostel, picked us up and we returned to the hostel where I took a shower and relaxed before dinner. This is easily the best hostel I've stayed at thus far.
Sounds great. Forgot what a slack pack was
