Got a ride back to the trail, hiked to VA 250 which leads into Waynesboro, Virginia and yet again hitched another ride into town where I got dropped off at the Mc D's because they have a good wifi signal.
Getting someone to give you a ride isn't that hard to do. Once, a few days ago, I was just standing at a trail exit near a road and this man and woman stopped and asked if I needed a ride into town. I thanked them and said no not now. That's just one example of just how nice most folks are to AT hikers. At least nothing bad or negative has happened yet.
So I'm staying at the YMCA facility here in town. Im at mile 861.7 Waynesboro by the way is a city of just over twenty thousand people. The YMCA offers free showers and just a block away is a large field where you can tent camp, all for free. There's a pavilion situated in the middle of the field with two large picnic tables.
Tomorrow I enter Shenandoah National Park.
