Slept well at the shelter last. There were several other hikers there as well. Most were flip-floppers who had started in Harper's Ferry and are going to head north first, then come back to Harper's Ferry and head south to Georgia in the fall.
I'm at mile 1064.0 in Cascsde, Maryland just across the border from Pennsylvania. I only hiked 5 miles because I ran into Chef who was staying at a hostel there called Nostalgic Dreams. I ended up sharing a room there with him. The owner did my laundry and it was nice to take a shower. The weather has been warm and muggy with high humidity so all of the backpackers are sweating profusely as we hike. I crossed the historic Mason Dixon line on my short hike. The large sign at an earlier overlook that I took a picture of was old with outdated milage figures on it.
